American Steamer

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The American Steamer was an American steam car manufactured by the American Steam Truck Co. of Elgin, Illinois from 1922 to 1924. Typical of the glut of steam cars that tried to get on the market in the early 1920s, the car featured a twin-cylinder compound double-acting motor. The company offered a touring car, a roadster, a coupe, and a sedan. At least 16 cars are known to have been built, though it is possible that as many as 20 actually left the factory.
