The American Samoa Football (Soccer) Association (ASFA) is the governing body of football in American Samoa. It was founded in 1984, and affiliated to FIFA and to OFC in 1998. It organizes the national football league and the national team.

[edit] Record defeat

The ASFA suffered football's heaviest defeat in competitive international matches after a 0-31 defeat against Australia, in April 11th, 2001, part of their qualifying campaign for the 2002 World Cup. In this particular qualifying campaing, American Samoa lost all four matches (Fiji 0-13, Samoa 0-8, Australia 0-31 and Tonga 0-5), scored no goals and had 57 goals against.

In their 2006 qualiying campaign, they fared little better, with Natia Natia scoring their first and only official goal so far on FIFA World Cup qualifying campaigns on their 1-9 loss against Vanuatu. In its 4 matches, the team lost all four, scored a single goal and suffered 34.
