American Musical and Dramatic Academy

The American Musical and Dramatic Academy, or AMDA, is a school for the performing arts located in Manhattan, New York City, New York. The school is a 2 year, Professional Certificate-granting conservatory with stringent auditions for admittance. Students may continue study at New School University in New York, NY after completion of the 2 year program to obtain a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

AMDA is an accredited institution of the National Association of Schools of Theatre. Boasting an ever-expanding collection of rehearsal, class and performance spaces on the Upper West Side, AMDA's main offices are located in the historic Ansonia hotel on Broadway. It heralds participation from many great performing arts specialists as instructors, and offers two programs of study: Integrated (dance/voice/theater) and Studio (theater/film).

The school has recently opened a new campus in Los Angeles, California. AMDA's Los Angeles campus is located one block north of Hollywood and Vine Street, adjacent to the Capitol Records Building, with its principal facility in the historic Vine Tower Building.

The conservatory training is rigorous, the environment is supportive, and the outcomes are notable. AMDA has a distinguished record of training students for careers in the performing arts.
