American Heritage Party

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The American Heritage Party (AHP) is a non-denominational Christian political party in the United States of America. The party supports limited Constitutional government within Biblical constraints.

The party mission is stated at the national website, www.americanheritageparty.org: "The American Heritage Party exists to help reclaim America's political institutions and culture for the glory of God and the advancement of the Christian faith. To this end we: Equip Christians as Statesmen; Mobilize Christian Citizens; Advance Christian Solutions."

Party membership is granted to subscribers who pay an annual fee and sign a subscription request acknowledging their Christian faith and commitment to the party Purpose statement, as stated in its Constitution. Party organizations at the state and local levels, called "Voters Clubs", are chartered through the national organization. Party leaders and candidates are prepared through a nationally-available statesmanship training program.

The American Heritage Party began in the state of Washington. The national party was formed in 2000.

The party fielded Bruce Craswell and John Beal for Congress in 1988, Lorne Blackman for Washington State Representative in 1998 and 2000, and Don Jackson for Columbia County Commissioner in 2002.

The national party platform is posted at http://www.americanheritageparty.org/platform.htm.

AHP's chairman is Daniel Eby of Washington.
