[edit] Brief History

VGXPO was founded by Ed Fleming and is produced by Lunar Tide Communications. The expo's roots can be traced to the PhillyClassic and Classic Gaming Expo (CGE) videogame events. Both events are considered were the first large consumer-oriented videogame conventions held in the United States. While the focus of Philly Classic and CGE were on classic & retro gaming, VGXPO seeks to showcase the past, present and future of videogames.

In partnership with NBC, the first VGXPO events were held in Dallas, Washington D.C. and Philadelphia in 2005. In 2006, VGXPO was produced without NBC's involvement.

VGXPO is positioned to grow into a much larger gaming convention over the next few years. The show's organizers plan to hold future events in both Philadelphia and the Southern California region.
