Location of Ameno in Italy

Ameno is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Novara in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 100 km northeast of Turin and about 40 km northwest of Novara. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 906 and an area of 10.0 km².[1]

Ameno borders the following municipalities: Armeno, Bolzano Novarese, Colazza, Invorio, Miasino, and Orta San Giulio.

The word Ameno in italian mean healty place, because the village is on the top of an hill surrounded by mountains, lake and wild bush. In Ameno is full of ancient houses and castles because many noble familys of Torino and Milano stay in Ameno in the summer.
