Your bot request
Hi Ambuj, back in June you asked for a bot which could check if featured content is correctly indicated as such. During the recent discussion about FA count, I noticed you mentioned this request again, and I realised that one of my bots which does some work on the list of FAs could be easily modified to perform this task (on an unrelated note, my bot was already counting the number of FAs once a day, but User:Jmax- wrote his own bot faster than I could mention mine, so I did not say anything)... Anyway, I've just spent 20 minutes implementing the check you wanted for FAs, and the script is currently running for the first time; it has found one missing template (corrected) so farand a few other details to correct (redirects, etc) which I'll do later.
Are you still interested in that ? If yes, I can adapt it for featured pictures and other featured content without too much hassle. In theory, after the initial run, there should not be too much work to do. I was thinking of getting the bot to warn a user by email and/or on a talk page when something was wrong so that it could be corrected (the bot used to warn me by email every time the count of FAs was incorrect). Any idea, suggestion ? Cheers, Schutz 23:24, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
Chandra Prakash here
Hi Ambuj, You left a welcome message at my user page long time back. I was new and not really active at the time. Further, I did not explore "how to reply to a user talk".
I appreciate your effort to introduce me to the basics of editing on Wikipedia.
I plan to contribute actively for next 3 months. I am focusing on articles about Madhya Pradesh and especially Indore (that page is a big mess right now). Will keep bugging (read asking :) you if I need help.
Thanks,_CP\

Portal India DYK
Archived it and added a few more. You may notice there is a slight bend towards articles pertaining to the NE. Its because Dkonwar (talk • contribs) created a whole slew of nice articles during his short time here, and also the NE gets shoved out quite a bit, so this gives readers a refreshing look into a part of India people are ignorant about.Bakaman 00:51, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

hi Ambuj
I thank you for doing such a great work in wiki but I request you not to fall into politicial things like glorifying Arjun Singh you belong to Jabalpur you may not be fully aware of him , I am the same Baghel Thakur he is and belong to Churhat his own place. He is not a great person , he only knows to destroy not to construct any thing, He was just younger son of local jamindar and 90 % of his dads fortune went to his elder half brother Rao Ranbahadur Singh , and later through corrupt means he made all these properties like Kerwa palace Bhopal,Apple farm in Shimla,Tetra pack plant in Bangalore. He has brought this OBC bill only to strengthen his image to become Prime minister of India,Which I bet with you he will never ever become. Please check ther reality then post these political things... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Rahulsinghbaghel (talk • contribs) 12:23, 17 January 2007 (UTC).
Image:Reservation_in_IIT.PNG listed for deletion
An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Reservation_in_IIT.PNG, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. MECU≈talk 03:42, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
- I wouldn't object to the deletion. I find the image very outdated, considering a lot has changed since the statistics were taken. — Ambuj Saxena (☎) 06:34, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
Hi Ambuj
Hi Ambuj I regret for that. Actually some wiki user here told me that you have removed some links referencing to Arjun singh's misdeeds and his negative background. I am sorry for that...—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 204.152.239.217 (talk • contribs).

England is filled in with a lighter shade of blue per the key as a finalist. I would also be more than happy to do a map in .svg but I simply do not have any program that could do that as far as I know. Sorry about that. Also, what are your thoughts on all those sketchy pictures used in the Cricket World Cup article? I've suggested that they be removed but Thugchildz is not happy about that. --mdmanser 12:48, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

world cup
hey i just created some article starters that needs huge works. So if you really want to help please help on these following articles so we don't have to put info about the past ones for each section of the main article and just put the current info like in the FIFA World Cup article.
mascots/attendace etc like the fifa mascots
history of world cup like the fifa world cup history so we dont need to have have a paragraph for each world cup in the main article(trim it down to the main/most important things) but please keep the prior to the world cup section and prudential world cups sections the same as they are the main history.
trophy like the fifa world cup trohpy please add info about the past trophies before this if possible.
world cup hosts like the FIFA World Cup hosts
world cup award like the fifa world cup awards
world cup teams like the FIFA World Cup's --Thugchildz

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Indian cricket team logo.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Indian cricket team logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. This is an automated message from BJBot 08:47, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

Hi Ambuj. Thank you for offering to assist. This photograph was taken by a friend at a concert. So I do not know if I could tag it as PD-self, because I didn't take the photograph (however I have just set the tag as PD-self just now anyway because it is a 'self'-taken photograph). The topic of taking a photograph of a musician at a concert is being discussed right now here. Such an issue has been long-standing and has not been resolved very clearly, so I've been told. You might be interested in reading the discussion in response to my query there. Any input or opinion from you would be very helpful to me in clarifying matters. Thank you Ambuj. Re: Nested parameters
I would like to avoid this option for the time being. Getting into too much complexities will not help the participants of an inactive and idle project. This template will be expanded in future but for the time being I do not think it needs any more complex features. This template employs only one project (i.e. WikiProject Pakistan and just identifies the subject of the article. It has been noted that some editors of Pakistan-related articles edit in only one or two subjects of Pakistan. That is why such categorization was added. I am still in the process of refinig this entire project. Thanks! Szhaider 15:37, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, I missed one point. However, I would still like to avoid further complexities in the template until I have finished the refinement of the entire project. Thanks for providing me some important resources for future. Thanks again! Szhaider 15:49, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
Re: Please don't spam
Hi Amuj,
I agree that what I have done constitutes spam. Believe me I have held the itch to do so for a real long time. The only reason I took this extreme step was because the Konkani Wikipeida has been in existence for more than 7 months and has been a one man effort. Most people will not even go to the discussion page, but this has a higher chance of succeding than notice boards. Secondly it will take a lot of expertise to get it up since it will be a tri-script Wikipedia .I intend to take down those messages within a month or so. Please bear with me till then. --Deepak D'Souza 09:21, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

It was uploaded quite a while ago under the former {{PD-IndiaGov}} tag. And then {{PD-India-Gov}} came up. All these Indian-government tags are so confusing. {{PD-IndiaGov}} was deleted because it was concluded that the material posted in Indian govt. sites was not in Public Domain and then we have this tag saying that "All the information that is hosted at www.nic.in is under public domain unless stated specifically". I think that the tag should clearly mention the kind of images it is applicable to. Thanks --Incman|वार्ता 20:17, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

India Dem
Because of India's rich diversity, no one image can represent all of India's one billion people. That is why I propose selecting a new demographics image every three months. This would allow for a regional balance and would show India as a whole. Many people have agreed that this is the only way to represent India's rich and varied diversity. Since you have voted for a change on the page, I wanted to update you on this proposal. I would love to hear your comments on talk:India. Thanks so much. Have a great day!

Hey!
First of all, let me congratulate you for your admission into IIT. An American TV channel did a program once about how tough it is to get in. It's very impressive.
I am trying to build consensus on the rotation image, and I see that you do not agree. The proposal came because the previous proposals brought many different images and basically divided the opportuinity to have concensus. Some people wanted South Indians to be represented, others wanted north easterners to be represented. So, I decided that if we could rotate images, everyone would be happy. Many other articles use this style, and it's the optimal way to solve the problem. The pictures would not be biased (not any more biased than the Apanti image, which does not even represent a fraction of the people). They would only help the article. I hope you understand and I hope you can see where we're coming from. Thanks. Have a great day. Coollemonade 22:02, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

I made a couple of changes to some of your edits, most of them were good though and improved the quality. A couple of things: he got the nicknames before the dunk contests so they didn't come from the contests. Here in America we say so and so won a championship or he won a ring (championship ring) when we are talking of an individual player. Even if the player is a mediocre player and doesn't even get in the games, so it doesn't really imply any value judgements. Quadzilla99 08:31, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
- I should have said so in the edit summary, I apologize. Myself and another more experienced editor (SandyGeorgia), put the refs in that format. She is a more experienced editor than myself and complained of the format of the refs and wanted them in that format. I don't think she wanted the commas though so I can take them all out if you'd like. I'm not really sure why two spaces show up in between sentences which ever you'd prefer I can put them back to, just let me know. Like I said most of your edits were good. I apologize. If you look at the edit history I put a lot of your changes back in and will make any changes you want. Basically just tell me waht to fix and I'll do it. Thanks. - Also the NBA Draft is wikilinked that explains the pick statement. The high school statement implies in his junior and senior years, it's kind of american centric I'll try to fix it. Quadzilla99 08:49, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
- Okay take a look basically almost all of your changes are still in there and I explained your comments I think. I mistakenly took out more than I should have and I apologize basically I half reverted sloppily without looking all of it over. As you'll see before you even commented to me I had already begun to re-insert several of them. If you want any more back in there I can put them back in or if you want to go ahead.
