The Amblève (French name; the Amel in German) is a 76 km long river in eastern Belgium in the province of Liège. It is a right tributary of the river Ourthe. It rises near Büllingen in the Hautes Fagnes, close to the border with Germany. Tributaries of the Amblève are the rivers Warche and Salm. The Amblève flows through the towns of Amel, Stavelot, Trois-Ponts, Remouchamps, and Aywaille. At Coo, near Trois-Ponts, there is a well-known waterfall. The Amblève joins the river Ourthe in Comblain-au-Pont.
