Amanda Marcotte is a blogger. She runs the liberal feminist weblog Pandagon and was briefly the blogmaster for the presidential campaign of former Senator John Edwards.
[edit] Edwards campaign
On January 30, 2007, the John Edwards 2008 presidential campaign hired Marcotte to act as the campaign's blogmaster.[1] In reaction to some of her earlier, strongly-worded writings, the Catholic League publicly demanded that the Edwards campaign terminate Marcotte's appointment.[2]
Following a day of public speculation that she had been fired, an Edwards campaign press release on Thursday, February 8, 2007 stated that while Edwards was "personally offended" by some of what Marcotte wrote, her job as the campaign blogmaster was secure. [3]
On February 12, 2007, Marcotte announced on Pandagon that she had resigned from the Edwards campaign due to concerns that her personal controversies would prevent her from doing quality work. The campaign accepted her resignation.[4]
