AmaZulu is a South African football (soccer) club based in the city of Durban. Mvela Golden League side Zulu Royals (renamed AmaZulu) bought out Dynamos in the 2006/07 pre-season for R30m and is automatically promoted to the Premier League. In November 2006, the club removed veteran coach Clive "The Dog" Barker from his post in favour of assistant Reggie Shelembe. Former Bafana Bafana coach, Ted Dumitru, was appointed as the technical director of the club. Shelembe however, was later replaced with experienced Brazilian Julio Cesar Leal.
