[edit] Clarifications on Sergeants, please

"Note: A Rank of Sergant Major of the Corps is given monthly to the best performing Master Sergant. It is only held by one player at a time. Please note the game follows the Marine Corp's ranking system, where at the paygrade E-7 there are two ranks. They are considered to be equal in rank, but perform different tasks."

According to the website http://www2.powercom.net/~rokats/armedforces.html

E7 is for Gunnery Sergeant. E8 is where you have First and Master Sergeants.

Also, I'd like more clarifications on the first sentence. Master Sergeant is one level below Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps. It'd make sense if one gets promoted each month from E8 to the single Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps in E9.

OR, is one of the existing E9 sergeants (Master Gunnery Sergeant/Sergeant Major) selected as the greatest E9 as Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps?

So to simplify things, I wanted to ask: In BF2, is Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps selected from existing E9 sergeants or promoted from one level below?

- Selected from exsisting, i think. The reason only one person a month gets the position is because there is only one at a time in real life. --Herzog 01:34, 26 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] In-game icons

I don't know how, but it would be nice if someone could put the in-game icons (next to name in game on scoreboard) in this article.

I will search the archives for those pictures, upload and add them to the article. Mr. Bondt 18:32, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Lance Corporal

Today I passed 500 point, and I didn't get promoted to Lance Corporal. I got promoted at 550 points. Can smeone confirm this so the page can be updated? --Lorian 07:13, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

According to http://ubar.bf2s.com/ranks.php it's 500 points. Please note that the ranking system can be slow with updating.

[edit] Updates

I did a lot today on this page, please tell me if I did something wrong, because I am new to WikiPedia (with editing that is). I know a lot of Battlefield 2, so I will be updating several pages on the subject if needed. Mr. Bondt 19:38, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 4-star generals

I'm curious as to the criteria for being the full General.

The article says that it's the highest ranking general of the month (assuming it's from the pool of Lieutenant Generals (3-stars)). If you look at the top 10 players, there's already 2 4-star generals from Germany. Could someone please clarify cause there's more than one 4-star generals around.

[edit] Point Differential

Would someone explain what point differential means in regard to ranks?
