Alvin Journeyman is a novel published in 1995 by Orson Scott Card. It is fourth in the Tales of Alvin Maker series.
Now a grown man and a journeyman smith, Alvin has returned to his family in the town of Vigor Church. Working as blacksmith, Alvin tries to teach anyone who wishes to learn the knack of being a Maker. For Alvin had a vision of the Crystal City he will build, and he knows he can not build it alone.
Alvin returns to the town of Hatrack River where he meets new and un-expectred friends and faces old foes. While his younger brother Calvin is in France, learning to use his ambition from Napoleon.
Alvin's ancient enemy, the Unmaker, whose cruel whispers and deadly plots have threatened Alvin's new life at every turn, has found new hands to do his work for destruction.
