Alvin Independent School District

Alvin Independent School District is a school district based in Alvin, Texas (USA).

Alvin ISD serves the cities of Alvin, Liverpool, and Manvel, the village of Iowa Colony, and the community of Amsterdam. Alvin ISD also serves a portion of the city Pearland (including master-planned communities such as Savannah Cove: Lakes of Savannah, Southern Trails, Southfork, and most of Shadow Creek Ranch) and the community of Rosharon. Areas associated with the city of Arcola that are not a part of the actual city of Arcola are also in AISD. Alvin ISD covers 250 square miles of land.

The Superintendent of Schools is Dr. Greg Smith, and the district is operated by an elected Board of Trustees.

Alvin ISD requires all students to wear standardized dress, which is similar to a school uniform; the issue on whether or not to have them in school is very controversial among students and staff.
