Altrincham Aardvarx is a recreational level ice hockey club currently icing out of Blackburn Arena, Blackburn, Lancashire, England. The club was formed in November 2001 with the remit of giving adult-age beginners a chance to try their hand at the sport.

Formed in November of 2001, Altrincham Aardvarx started life as a groups of adult beginner-level skaters gathering on Saturday nights at the Devonshire Road rink in Altrincham, Greater Manchester to further their skating skills and to try their hand at ice hockey. The group, made up largely of Manchester Storm fans, soon grew and the team name was chosen to give the group a sense of identity, under the team's two head coaches Duncan Howarth and Simon Cobb.

In March of 2003, with the closure of the Devonshire Road rink, the Aardvarx moved to Blackburn Arena and took the late night Saturday slot. With further interest coming from local players, the growth of the club continued.

In December of 2004, Duncan Howarth and Simon Cobb handed over the running of the club to Richard Allan and Gary Lathwell.

In 2005 the club was officially registered with the English Ice Hockey Association as a Recreational Hockey team.

The club currently trains on Saturday nights at Blackburn Arena but will be expanding in April 2007 to also train on Wednesday nights at the new Altrincham Ice Dome.
