Alto Amazonas Province is a region of Loreto, Peru. Located in northeastern Peruvian Amazonia, the culturally and biodiverse Province of Alto Amazonas is comprised of the following political districts: Balsapuerto; Barranca; Cahuapanas; Jeberos; Lagunas; Manseriche; Morona; Pastaza; Santa Cruz; Tnte. Cesar Lopez Rojas; and Yurimaguas situated on the banks of the majestic Huallaga River, 241 miles southwest of Iquitos.
