Altana AG (ISIN: DE0007600801) is a German chemical and pharmaceutical company based in Bad Homburg.
In 2003, Altana had 10,800 employees and a turnover of € 2.7 billion. Since 1977, Altana has been listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and is one of the 30 DAX companies. Since 2002, Altana has been listed at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: AAA) as well.
The Altana group consists of Altana Pharma AG (formerly Byk Gulden) with headquarters at Konstanz and Altana Chemie AG headquartered at Wesel.
50.1% of the company shares are owned by Susanne Klatten, one of the children of Herbert Quandt.
