Altaf Shakoor

An engineer by education and trader by profession, Altaf Shakoor is the leader of Pasban (The Defenders), a Pakistani socio-political organization which has its famous slogan "Pasban.... Voice against injustice". Born in Karachi in July 1957. He was president of students union in N.E.D. University of engineering and technology Karachi (1981-82) and lead Pasban Karachi from 1991 to 1994 (when it was annexed to Jamaat e islami)and was elected as president of Pasban Pakistan in 1994. He has established various branches of Pasban in Pakistan especially in Sindh province, the highest literate southern part of Pakistan. It highlights the problems faced by common man of the society in media.
