Climbing again thanks to 30mg of Baclofen after 3 years in and out of a wheelchair. Nearly lost my job, nearly died when I relapsed at altitude in the Tien Shan. Keeping away from "high mountains" after another relapse in the alps 2 years ago. Thoroughly enjoying teaching English as always and hopefully producing the sceptics of tomorrow.

ADDITIONAL::

Having resumed climbing I relapses AGAIN- told this time I have permanent nerve damage. Stuck in wheelchair again.

Then I took aspirin and wow!!! Then discover I have a clotting disorder. Don't believe in conversion disorder, do believe in aspirin.

My academic interests are:

The evolution of consciousness. The neuro-biology of religious experience. Freud and conversion disorder. Metaphysical poetry. Meister Eckhart. Strategies to improve levels of consciousness in disaffected teenagers.
