[edit] Creations
Dr. Mephisto is well-known for his unique creations, mostly modified clones of various animals.
[edit] Kevin
Kevin is "that little monkey guy" who follows Mephisto around, and is described as a failed attempt to make a famous pop star. He is Dr. Mephisto's assistant, and never speaks. A song by Primus on the Chef Aid album gives an account of Kevin's origin, which may or may not be canon.
[edit] Animals with Multiple Asses
Most of Dr. Mephisto's creations are animals with multiple sets of buttocks, in particular his somewhat evil looking "four assed monkey." Mephisto believes it is for the good of the Earth, and that one-assed animals are useless and must be destroyed. While the majority of his creations have four asses, Mephisto successfully created a "five assed monkey," which his son Terrence presented as his science fair project when his one-assed clone of Stan rampaged and destroyed the town and had to be killed (see below). Also, Dr. Mephisto presented a seven-assed Galapagos Turtle in an attempt to win a Nobel Prize, but lost to Randy Marsh's "Unified Theory of Fart Thing." Dr. Mephisto also carries a cane, which on the top of it is an ass.
[edit] Stan Clone
The boys sought Mephisto's assistance in cross breeding a pig and elephant for a science fair. While there, Mephisto caught Stan unawares and took a swab of his DNA. Mephisto then grew a giant clone of Stan, which turned out deformed and rampaged throughout the town. It was finally stopped by Stan's brutal sister Shelley who smashed it into a wall. The clone was to be Terrance Mephisto's science fair project, but when it failed Terrance took a five-assed monkey created by Dr. Mephisto instead.
[edit] Mutant Turkeys
Dr. Mephisto created a large number of turkey clones, supposedly for the purpose of ending world hunger. Like many of his projects, however, they were ultimately a failure. They escaped and rampaged through South Park, killing indiscriminantly, and they all had to be shot. The turkeys also appear on the first level of the South Park video game, in which Mephisto is an unlockable player.
[edit] Episodes in which Mephisto is prominent
- An Elephant Makes Love to a Pig- Mephisto builds a clone of Stan, which rampages through the town.
- Starvin' Marvin- Mephisto's pissed off turkey clones escape and kill everything in their path.
- Cartman's Mom is a Dirty Slut (Part One)- Mephisto performs a DNA test on the men of South Park to find Cartman's father.
- Cartman's Mom is Still a Dirty Slut (Part Two)- As Mephisto is about to reveal Cartman's father he is shot. At the end of the episode he is revived and tells Cartman who his father is.
- Prehistoric Ice Man - Mephisto studies Steve, the Prehistoric Ice Man from 1996.
- Spontaneous Combustion- Mephisto tries to win a Nobel Prize award for his seven-assed Galapagos turtle.
- Cartman Joins NAMBLA- Mephisto is a member of NAMBLA, the North-American Marlon Brando Look-Alikes.
Mephisto has not had a major role in South Park for quite some time. All the scientific work is carried out by Randy Marsh, who is considered the town's only scientist. Mephisto is, however, still featured in the background of the title sequence and had a cameo in "It's Christmas in Canada", though he had no lines.
[edit] Trivia
- Mephisto's brother attempts to shoot him every month.
- He is a member of the National Association of Marlon Brando Look Alikes.
- Mephisto will be included in the fifth series of South Park action figures by Mezco.
- As noted by the creators, Mephisto's character is based off a UCLA microbiology professor Roger Bohman who teaches a popular course on AIDS awareness at the school
