[edit] History
[edit] Mega Man Zero
In Mega Man Zero, Alouette was a Reploid child destined for destruction from the oppressive forces of Neo Arcadia, but was rescued by the Resistance, a small band of reploids who opposed Neo Arcadia and led by the human scentist, Ciel. In the events of Mega Man Zero, Ciel instantly took in Alouette and has treated her compassionately and like a daughter, despite being a Reploid. Ciel worries often about Alouette, and Alouette about Ciel. She named Alouette, and makes her toys to play with. Ciel has even said that she can feel relaxed, no matter what is happening, as long as she knows Alouette is there. The two are very close, and if something were to happen to Alouette, a part of Ciel would no doubt die. Throughout the series in Mega Man Zero 2, Mega Man Zero 3 and Mega Man Zero 4, Alouette plays a reoccurring supporting role to the main character, Zero.
[edit] Mega Man ZX
In the Mega Man ZX game storyline, a popular belief that is hinted at in both Vent and Aile's storylines is that Prairie, the commander of the Guardians (an organization similar to the Resistance in Mega Man Zero), could actually be Alouette. Although this is only fan speculation and therefore not official, there have been several correlations between the two that could actually reinforce this idea.
In both storylines, Prairie refers to "the former commander" as "onee-chan", an affectionate term meaning "big sister", which is the exact same way Alouette referred to Ciel in the Rockman Zero series. Also, the proof for passing the Guardian Test early in the game is a plush toy, which is also seen constantly by Prairie's side and resembles the toy Alouette constantly carried throughout the former series. Finally, in Vent's storyline, Prairie states that she is a Reploid who has been alive for several hundred years now, even living in the time of the previous wars that are, to the people alive now, "just another old story,". She also references having seen the space station Ragnarok's re-entry in the atmosphere, an event of Rockman Zero 4 during which Alouette is sighted, and says this picture is forever burned in her mind. Both characters also share the same voice actress. Also, the fact that the Model Z was created by "the former commander", strongly hinted to be Ciel herself, could be an indirect proof of Alouette's identity.
Despite the coincidental evidence, however, there is no explicit mention in the games that the idea of Prairie actually being Alouette is canon.
