Comrades: Almost a Love Story (Simplified Chinese: 甜蜜蜜; pinyin: tián mì mì) is a 1996 Hong Kong movie starring Maggie Cheung, Leon Lai, Eric Tsang and Kristy Yang, and directed by Peter Chan. The movie is about 2 Chinese mainlanders trying to make a life in Hong Kong. It was filmed in Hong Kong and New York City.
The Chinese title of the film is from a famous song by Teresa Teng. The movie centers around the 2 characters and their love of a famous singer. Christopher Doyle, one of the most famous cinematographer worldwide plays an English teacher.
