Allihn condenser

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Allihn condenser or bulb condenser is a type of laboratory glassware. It is named after Felix Richard Allihn.[citation needed]

The Allihn condenser consists of a long glass tube with a water jacket. There is a series of large and small constrictions on the inside tube, each increasing the surface area upon which the vapor constituents may condense. The Allihn condenser usually have ground glass joints at the top and bottom so that it can be connected to other glassware easily.
