Alice K. Kurashige

Alice K. Kurashige was the first Japanese-American woman to be commissioned in the United States Marine Corps, serving from 1964 to 1970, reaching the rank of captain. She was the commanding officer of Women Marine Company, Headquarters Battalion, Marine Corps Supply Center in Barstow, California from November 5, 1969 to May, 14, 1970. She was also the first woman to become a Food Service Officer in the Marine Corps.
