Ali Shettima Monguno

Ali Shettima Monguno (1926) is a Nigerian politician and former minister for Internal Affairs and Mines and Power. He was born in Monguno, Borno State. Before entering politics, he was a teacher and an education secretary to the Borno Native Authority.

It was during his tenure as minister for Mines and Power, a ministry which was overseeing the nation's oil industry, that the country acquired stakes in the oil prospecting licenses of multinationals exploring oil in Nigeria. In 1978, he was one of the members of Gowon's executive council, alongside, Shehu Shagari, Anthony Enahoro and Chief Eke who joined the National Party of Nigeria.
