Ali Hamza Ahmed Suleiman Al Bahlul

Ali Hamza Ahmed Suleiman Al Bahlul (also transliterated as Ali Hamza Ahmed Sulayman Ismail) is a citizen of Yemen who was held in extrajudicial detention in the United States Guantanamo Bay detainment camps, in Cuba.[1] His Guantanamo detainee ID number is 039. American intelligence analysts estimate captive 039 was born in 1969, in Hudaydah, Yemen.

Guantanamo captive 039 is notable because his name was spelled inconsistently on the two official lists of names, released on April 20, 2006 and twenty-five days later on May 15, 2006:

There is no record captive 39 participated in his Combatant Status Review Tribunal, but one was convened to review whether he should have been classified as an enemy combatant.
