Talk:Alfred Ablett (VC)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Alfred Ablett died in 1897, so how did he manage to come to Canada in 1912 and serve in both World Wars (in his 80s and 110s respectively)? I suspect that this is not the same man! -- Necrothesp 12:32, 16 Jul 2004 (UTC)
Are you saying this is not Alfred Ablett or are you saying that an Alfred Ablett came to Canada in 1912 and served in both world wars...?
My grandfather, Alfred Ablett, named after his great grandfather, VC recipient, Alfred Ablett did come to Canada in the early 1900's, did serve in WW1, had three children two of who served in WWII (Alfred being one of them - KIA 1945) Betty the other (CWAC)
