Alfredo Pérez Rubalcaba (born 1951 in Solares,Cantabria, Spain) is the present Interior minister within the present Spanish government, the PSOE. He obtained his doctorate in the chemistry faculty of the Complutense University in Madrid, where he went on to become professor. His speciality was reaction mechanisms in organic chemistry.
