Alfred Maurstad

Alfred Maurstad (born 1896-1967) was a leading Norwegian actor, and the father of Toralv Maurstad. Beside being an actor; Alfred was famous playing the fiddle. He was also a movie director, and theater-boss.
In his teenages, he played at Nordfjord with many conserts of norwegian "Slåtter" whit his Hardingfele (a norwegian kind of fiddle).
Maurstad went to school in Bergen. He debuted at The Norwegian Theater in 1920, and started to work at Nationaltheatret in 1930. He was boss for Trøndelag Theater from 1945 to 1950. Maurstad played the main character in many plays like Fant, Tørres Snørtevold and Gjest Baardsen.
In the holidays, Alfred Maurstad lived at the small farm on Maurstad (somwhere in Norway). The farm was received by his son, Torvald Maurstad.
His daughter Mari Maurstad (1957-), and son Toralv Maurstad (1926-2000) are also actors.
