Alfred Goulding

Alfred Goulding (b. 1896, Melbourne, Australia, d. 1972),was a film director in the United States who mainly directed short comedies. His best known work was a Laurel and Hardy feature film, A Chump at Oxford. He later worked uncredited on their final film Atoll K,a project which was marred by Stan Laurel's very poor health during its making.
He was the youngest brother of the celebrated opera-singer, Elsa Goulding, and - more important - was the man who made Harold Lloyd put on his "trade-mark" spectacles.
