[edit] The Pervert

Thank you for doing that. I don't believe him, because I know how they work, i've seen Datelines abiut this thing. They try to interact with your interests, try to get you alone, then they do something sexual to you and kill you. SO I know better. Besides, the Edsel in the picture is registered to Maine, so he is lieing. Bout could you please send me a copy of that email? Thanks. Karrmann 15:23, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

Since I've become involved on the outskirts of this, I do want to point out that this could, indeed be an innocent situation. The vast majority of people are not the predators Dateline shows, and, in fact, a child is much more likely (by orders of magnitude) to be sexually abused by a relative or other caregiver than by a stranger. Dateline's entrapment operations make for good TV, but they distort the real dangers that young people face every day.
Speaking partricularly of this matter, all we know for sure is that he offered to have you look at his Edsel, since you like Edsels. He may not necessarily have realized your age, since several userboxes on your userpage describe you as the owner/driver of various cars. In any regard, even if he did know your age, he made no improper suggestion to you. To my view, the response that this guy's message has garnered is out of all proportion to what he actually said. Based on the complaint & response, this guy was banned from this project for a month & a request was placed on a list to have his ISP notified of what he was accused of. He's apparently explained the situation to Alex Bakharev's satisfaction, and these actions were reversed. Is there something I'm not seeing? --Ssbohio 21:51, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Nikola Tesla

Thank you for protecting this article, User:Afrika paprika has really been causing us trouble with the article, he was even blocked for reverting and he keeps removing this referenced sentence. Now at the moment you protected it, Afrika paprika edited it again and removed this very sentence where it describes that Tesla was Serbian-American. Afrika paprika provides no references for his claims, he tries to accent the part that Tesla was born in Croatia and sidestep the part about him being a Serb, which is not NPOV. Now, I ask you to save the version of the article to any edit made before Afrika paprika (I prefer this version by Lowg) and then Afrika paprika might just figure out that Wikipedians need to provide good sources for their claims, and that deleting referenced text is considered vandalism. Thank you. --KOCOBO 19:40, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

Also, see the Nikola Tesla talk page where I have shown absolute proof of my claims. Thanks again, --KOCOBO 20:59, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
Hi, can you take a look at the Nikola Tesla page again? Afrika Paprika still keeps reverting while not providing any concrete references for his claims. I ask you to take some action, because you seem like a good guy willing to help out. Please either protect the article or block Afrika Paprika. Thanks in advance, --KOCOBO 21:45, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] /b/tards are back

"Ryulong! you are not Moot, stop changing other peoples edits". Ryulong 23:34, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

  • I am reluctant to block a user on what is appear very mild personal attack, sorry. Who is Moot, anyway? abakharev 23:45, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
Moot is the owner of the 4chan boards. He is the head moderator. Ryulong 23:46, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the info. I do not see it as a Personal Attack deserved to be punished, sorry. abakharev 23:49, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
That's all right. Ryulong 23:50, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
Now there's an actual vandal instead of those trying to be good faith yet mildly attacking me. Ryulong 23:56, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] User:SuperDeng avoiding blocks by using sock puppets

See this newly created user User:BobShoe and his edits: the style/grammar suggests it's SuperDeng again. The odd English sentences and grammar mishaps by Deng (a classic example:[1]) are very much similar to those written by this 'new' user [2]. I think a Usercheck could make things clear. I'd really be surprised if it wasn't a sock puppet.--Constanz - Talk 08:33, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

  • Well, lets see Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/SuperDeng abakharev 08:48, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
    • They found that it was a sock as were 2 other accounts. I blocked them all. I think it's time to block SuperDeng indefinitely. Agreed? I just think it's time. Many many chances. --Woohookitty(meow) 11:36, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
      • Well it looks like they were 3 socks. I'll "reset" the blocks to go back to 2 months. The thing is, I don't think he's going to accept the rules. He has shown absolutely no inkling or interest in doing so. --Woohookitty(meow) 04:24, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Why did you delete my politician stub

You deleted my stub on Viktor Kozlov. He is notable in Moskovksiy Pisatel and was a famous member of the Progressive party. I think his biography is worth keeping as he was acting leader of Moskovskiy Pisatel in 1991. Thank you. Abc85 21:36, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

Please, check Talk:Schav and fix the article. --jno 15:47, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Roitr

Hi! Can you help with Roitr (Wikipedia:Long_term_abuse/Roitr) again? And I feel we need somethiong new to invent - the old measures does not work... :-(--Nixer 18:16, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Libya

Hi,

I've recently added Libya to the list of featured article candidates. Overall the candidature is going well with many of the objections now sorted out. The final concrete objection is with the article's prose. I have been the main contributor to the article and have been looking at it for the previous 9 - 10 months. My eyes no longer see it freshly, so I am not a suitable copy-editor!

To meet the final demand of copy editing, I have been advised to ask different people to edit parts of the article.

I would really love to get this article featured as you can probably see from the page's history! I've worked very hard on it and I see this as possibly being the final hurdle.

You can see the prose objections, mostly raised by Sandy, on the candidature page. If you have the time, please choose a section (Politics, Religion, Culture etc.) and copyedit, perfect, ace it! I would be very grateful with any help I can get.

Thanks a lot,

--Jaw101ie 17:02, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:Templates_for_deletion/Log/2006_June_30#Template:POV-because

Hi, Alex - I know you voted on this, so cannot do it yourself, but I wonder if you could point an other administrator to this and have it closed (enough votes, enough examples of disription, high enough percentage of delte votes). Of all the moderators I know, either I am having a lttle problem with them (something to do with tango - not that I expect those who were on the other side to rule "keep" by the way) or they have already voted - the exception being CrazyRussian, but I doubt whether Mbuk et al will appreciate if he closes it. Thanks in advance if you are able to find someone.--Pan Gerwazy 20:23, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

And thanks after the fact, of course. I guess I now know why it was so disruptive: the "because" thing invited people to put up an NPOV template even when they knew in their hearts it was not the reason why they were objecting, but they could somehow explain it away with the "because" clause. "Martin Luther" was even a better example than "Russian architecture": there it was put up when plagiarism was claimed - making rewriting necessary, which made some editors very happy, since they hoped that that way the text could be moved towards their point of view. I have learned a lot reading these talk pages. --Pan Gerwazy 21:49, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Georgy Zhukov Mediation

[edit] Józef Piłsudski

Could you help adress the concerns you raised during FAC process? We tried to NPOV the article but this is what we have done with current sources. Input and edits from other editors to show what we have missed would be much appreciated.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 15:17, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Olympic sports

Thank you very much for your help! User:Roitr continues his vandalism now in sport articles. Can you please semi-protect the article Olympic sports to prevent vandalism?--Nixer 19:03, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks from me too!! Roitr is mostly using anonymous IP access now; is there any way to block single IP addresses on individual articles? This is a daily hassle. Also, Demonstration sport is prone to his edits. Andrwsc 21:42, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
He is using various IPs from Bezek (as I understand a major ISP in Israel). I am blocking the individual IPs for a reasonable time, but I obviously cannot block the whole range. Maybe we should contact Bezek for some sort of help? abakharev 21:53, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
I don't know what they could do. Obviously from the logs collected at Wikipedia:Long term abuse/Roitr, he just uses new IP addresses every other day or so, probably just from resetting a cable modem, for example. Fortunately (!?!) his actions are constrained to a small set of articles, so it's easy to spot the new editing activity. For example, I am an active editor on the Olympic pages, so I have come across his edits very soon after they are made, over several pages in the past few months. As long as I can get a block applied on individual articles from individual IP addresses, he can be stopped before the revert wars escalate. How can I do that? What is the process? I think for a long-term abuser like Roitr, blocks can and should be applied immediately, with no warning period etc. He does not respond to 3RR warnings. Thanks, Andrwsc 22:07, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
Probably the easiest way is to drop me a note on my talk page or by email and I will semiprotect the article affected and block the sockpuppet. I cannot think of another way abakharev 22:11, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
And if I am way from the net, just drop a note on WP:AIV, probably. abakharev 22:16, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
Thanks, will do. I appreciate the help! Andrwsc 22:26, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 3RR violations in Soviet partisan

You seemed to forgot the other 3RR violators. User:Irpen and User:Fisenko, and those are the ones who put biased content (see talk page). But that's because they're Russian like you? I'd also suggest you to take a look at this. Finland is #1 in Press Freedom, while Russia is 148th when "Soviet Partisan Hero"-websites and Pravda are used as references.. --Pudeo 18:41, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

  • Well, I can not find 3RR violations by User:Irpen and User:Fisenko, could you please go to WP:AN/3RR and report the violation using the standard form there. As a courtesy you can even drop me a link on my talk page abakharev 21:21, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Roitr again...

Unfortunately, I have to disturb you one more time... Can you please block user Alexisha (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log) - a sockpuppet of Roitr? This old account has been revived to circumvent semi-protection of the articles... And possibly Russian Empire needs semi-protection.--Nixer 16:59, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

  • I have blocked Alexisha and the IP socks. I do not see the need to semiprotect the Russian Empire at that stage abakharev 21:36, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
Should Image:Russia-airforce-1994 16.gif he uploaded be deleted too? MaxSem 22:51, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
I am not sure, is this Major General parade uniform shoulder board potentialy usable? There does not seem anything wrong with the board to me abakharev 00:28, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
This [3] picture should be deleted because it is hand-made by Roitr. In fact there is no such image in the declared source:[4].--Nixer 07:16, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
In fact it is on http://www.uniforminsignia.net/index.php?p=show&id=123&sid=1411 the image is http://www.uniforminsignia.net/_r/russia-airforce-1994_16.gif abakharev 07:50, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
This image differs from the uploaded by Roitr. For example there is no blue strip in this pictire, while in Roitr's one it exists. Compare [5] and [6]--Nixer 10:43, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
Fair enough. I have deleted the image abakharev 11:07, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Imiaslavie

  1. I want to nominate your article Imiaslavie for Wikipedia:Featured article candidates. Is this OK with you?
  2. I currently trying to write an article ru:Катакомбная церковь. Any interest? Thanks. - Vald 09:05, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
    • It is OK with me, but it required a lot of work to bring this article to FA status, we might need more sources and better sources, to have a native speaker to copyedit the article etc. I will need help
    • Yes, it is a facinated subject. The problem I don't know much about it, though I have found that it often easier to write a wiki article when you know less about the subject abakharev 10:00, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Problematic anons

The same pesky anon. He seems to operate from a variety of IPs, watching my edits and provoking me to breaking 3RR. What should I do? --Ghirla -трёп- 11:51, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Yury Vlasov

It's a nice article. I was wondering if yor "external links" are actually the references? I've also left a comment on the talk which you might want to check. Cheers. Circeus 18:35, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Cossack

Can please semi-protect the article against daily vandalism. --Kuban Cossack 15:19, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

Also can you do something against Molobo's blatant sock 83.5.xxx.xxx that has been reverting on a number of articles including Soviet Partisans, Russophobia, Crimean anti-NATO protests of 2006 and so on. I think we got a second bonny. --Kuban Cossack 15:24, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
Ditto. I feel like being stalked, as my most harmless edits get reverted. Check this and this and this... I could get on with examples. I wonder whether we should raise the issue of the anon's disruptiveness on WP:ANI. --Ghirla -трёп- 18:35, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
I feel obliged to take Ghirlandajo's edits under increased scrutiny after his bullying of other editors who dare touch his "monopoly" on articles (Nevsky prospect) and addition of outright false information at (Mcdonalds- harmless edit?). Feel free to report any issues, dont throw a hissy fit if it will be you whose behavior is condemned. Regards. PS I would aprreciate if you wouldnt remove this comment for the sake of my defence, at the same time giving credit to Ghirlandajo and his slander against me and an innocent user Molobo, which I find repulsive. 83.5.242.118 21:03, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Semiprotection

It seems that semi-protection does not work properly. For example this article: Demonstration sport, which you have semi-protected, now is being vandalized by a new sockpuppet :-\ --Nixer 20:06, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

Why is your block of Tverskaya Street directed at me, when in fact Ghirlandajo is the one who first added misleading information, then deleted the fact I added? You may provide your rationale at the appropriate noticeboards: [8] and [9]. Regards. 83.5.249.155 12:53, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Thanks for the welcome, oh and anything i can do to help on russian-related articles let me know.--Fabio 02:23, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] User:RevolverOcelotX

I'm not sure if you remember my dispute with this user earlier which resulted in a block from you. The user has still not made a single useful edit on here. Well, apparently User:RevolverOcelotX is back and continues his pattern of making POV edits, wikilawyering, personal attacks, harassing other users, lack of civity, making groundless, violate 3RR then accuse others for violating 3RR, false accusations and generally wasting the community's patience. His actions is similar to indef. blocked User:PoolGuy (except the sockpuppets part) and constantly engage himself in bootless wikilawyering. (vexatious litigant) For more information please refer to [[10]] for the full length report and his contributions. I really do not wish to get into another edit war with him, but someone needs to take care of the situation. I urge administrators to take a close look at his conduct and block him immediately. More evidence available if you guys need it. Thanks--Bonafide.hustla 05:17, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

There is no evidence of policy violation here. For the record, I'm not the only person reverting Bonafide.hustla's POV pushing. Other user have reverted Bonafide.hustla's mass POV pushing here and at many other articles as well. Bonafide.hustla (talk contribs)
