[edit] Welcome back!

Noticed that you started contributing once again. I removed you from the WP:MW list [1]. I don't know if it was intentional or not - you came back exactly six months after you left on 3 March, as if Zoe hadn't lifted the six-month block. Hbdragon88 07:33, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sorry

Thought someone was vandalising your userpage - I reverted immediately back to your version. - Glen 22:03, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] MxPx

Nice userbox you created for MxPx fans; I'm putting it on my userpage for sure. EdGl 21:16, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:The Offspring.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:The Offspring.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}. If you have not already done so, please also include the source of the image. In many cases this will be the website where you found it.

Please specify the copyright information and source on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 22:58, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:The Offspring.jpg

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:The Offspring.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 22:58, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:The Offspring.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:The Offspring.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 22:58, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Removing tags

Please do not remove tags from images, such as you did to Image:The Offspring.jpg, unless you have resolved the underlying issues. Thanks. --Yamla 00:00, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Reuploading an image still in violation of WP:FUC and still missing the mandatory detailed fair-use rationale is not cool. The image was deleted. Again. --Yamla 22:48, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Bad Religion

Go, Alex! Finish up that page so I don't ever have to think about it again.  ;) Good work. m13b 13:31, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Angels and Airwaves

Don't even start with the "Angels and Airwaves are" crap again. I'm still on your case about this and am not afraid to have another revert war with you if you change it back again. --Stukov 22:06, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re:Wikipedia:WikiProject The Offspring

Thank you for the invite to Wikipedia:WikiProject The Offspring, however, I have only ever heard of The Offspring and have not heard much of their music. So I do not know much information if any at all. Thank you for the invite but I cannot join the project at this time as I feel I will not be able to help the project to it's full potential. However, if you need any assistance I am willing to help, so just drop me a line at my talk page and I'll try and help you or try to point you in the right direction. Anyways, thanks again, however, I do not feel I would be much help in the project. Good luck!  Orfen User Talk | Contribs 19:13, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

Hi, thank you for the invite to Wikipedia:WikiProject The Offspring. I would be happy to join.Jacknife737 18:03, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

I saw it on a rancid-related website stating new releases, It mentioned that the DVD will be out in the spring and the album will be out in the autumn. I will try and find the website. User:Mr.Blonde

[edit] Edit summaries

Hey, I saw you reverted my edit: [2] and you re-added the genres. It's fine that you re-added them, but I would like to know why. Please use edit summaries because I feel like you completely ignored my edit without even responding. I think that adding a genre to an unreleased album is against WP:CRYSTAL seeing as it hasn't come out yet.++aviper2k7++ 22:26, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Oh. Apologies. I didn't mean to ignore your edit without responding. Alex 22:27, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] WikiProject

Hello,

I am interested in creating a WikiProject, and I was wondering if you could give me some advice on how to create one, if it's okay with you. Many thanks,

WereWolf 23:57, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

(PS, reply on my userpage, thanks!)

Thank you soooo much for your help! Anyway, would you be interested in my WikiProject that I hope to create? It's WikiProject:Nine Inch Nails. If you are, add your name here. By the way, I did know that you are the creator of WikiProject:The Offspring. Sorry I left.

[edit] musician dictionary?

I saw your link to musiciandictionary.com on the death by stereo page. I love that site. If you want they have a new link on the navigation bar with promotion stuff and I found {{user md}} you should add it if you want.

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:BlackFlag - MyWar.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:BlackFlag - MyWar.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] Image:Duane Whitaker.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Duane Whitaker.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. [edit] Rock music Wikiproject invitation

Hello WikiProject Metal member.
WikiProject Metal music is important in expanding encyclopedic coverage of the metal. It brings attention to the lesser-known bands, and significantly improves the quality of the famous ones. Five Featured articles and two formers is proof of that.
This is the stuff I wish to achieve with the somewhat recently resurrected WikiProject Rock music. I hope to also attract attention to rock music articles of all sorts, and hopefully change some to GA or FA status. I invite you to come join us, and embrace the links between metal and rock music in general.
Rock on.

[edit] Blink 182

Dear Alex, please do not ignore what I write about blink 182 and post threats on my page. Please do not edit the page without a valid source from the band or I will ask an administrator to ban you. Thank you. Olir 16:42, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Blink 182 genre

Dear Alex, sorry to inform you but you have not read everything that has been written about this topic.

There are many primary sources (which i state in my edit as a source, you can find further examples on the discussion board) saying that Blink 182 are punk rock, 10 or so misinformed members of wikipedia cannot change this by making a poll. The only sources claiming blink 182 are punk pop are similar "user written" secondary sources which have no standing.

Note: 'Primary Sources' are sources from the actual band. Olir 16:53, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

Hello, Alex 101! Since it has been a month since you nominated the Epitaph Records Portal for peer review, I hope you received good feedback on how the portal could be improved. If you would like, you could keep the portal listed at the portal peer review for more suggestions for improvement and ask the Wikipedians here for feedback. Also, if you think the portal is ready, you could nominate the portal for featured status. Either way, I hope you've received helpful reviews! Cheers, S.D. 17:50, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
