[edit] The Projects

He is currently working on the following wiki-pages:

[edit] Al-Kindi

The first Muslim philosopher and scientist (d. 871 CE). He was influenced by Aristotelian and Neo-Platonic thought, and wanted to introduce them to the Islamic intellectual tradition. While he would be outdone by figures such Al-Farabi and Avicenna, his contribution remains very important. He also worked extensively in other fields such as medicine, mathematics and optics. On top of all that, he was a talented musician.

Priorities: add sections on his philosophical thought (done), update his biographical information (done), add more information about his contributions to science (in progress).

Status: Nearing completion, only one or two tasks remain. The article is currently rated as B-Class (on the borderline for GA status), hoping to submit it for peer review and get it recognized as GA or even FA.

[edit] Al-Farabi

Another great Muslim philosopher (d. 951 CE), considered second only to Aristotle and credited with reviving and reinventing Alexandrian neo-Aristotelian thought. As well as significant contributions to logic and epistemology, his greatest achivement was systematizing Islamic philosophy and developing a true philosophical curriculum. And all of that before breakfast...

Priorities: clean up the page (in progress), add information on his philosophical thought (done), add information on his contributions to science (in progress).

Status: Article not yet rated. I will be devoting more attention to this after I finish my work with the al-Kindi page.
