Alexey Brodovich/Brodovitch (1898-1971) was a Russian emigrant photographer and designer who worked in Paris, then America, at the beginning of the twentieth century. He went on to become the art editor for Harper's Bazaar. He is considered to be one of the most influential 20th century designers in the field of graphic design.

Brodovitch never depended on any theories, grides or principles to achieve what he had intended to design. The use of different typeface, the asymmetrical layout, abstract use of image and illustration and combination of photographs and illustrations demonstrated Brodovitch used of various modernist strands into a unified design, hence promoting modernism. There is no one style that that you can label it to Brodovitch.
