Alexandre da Silva

Alexandre da Silva, (born March 21, 1974, in Campinas, São Paulo, Brazil), better known by his nickname, Chiquinho, is a Brazilian footballer. He is currently playing for Austrian Bundesliga side FC Superfund. He wears the number 8 jersey for his team. Chiquinho usually plays as a midfielder.

Chiquinho began his football career at local team União São João de Araras. In 1997, he was transferred to German Bundesliga side Borussia Mönchengladbach. At Mönchengladbach, people expected him to become a successor for Stefan Effenberg. He played there for three seasons, between 1997, and 2000. However, he could not withstand the pressure, and in 2000, he moved to Rot-Weiß Oberhausen. He played for Oberhausen between 2000, and 2002, after which he was transferred to Rot-Weiß Ahlen. At Ahlen, he spent another two years of his career, before moving back to Oberhausen in 2004. However, this time, he only spent one season there, and in 2005, he moved to his current club, FC Superfund. In his first year at FC Superfund, Chiquinho played in 29 games for his club, and scored 2 goals.
