Alexandra Burslem

Dame Alexandra Burslem JP FRSA is an English academic and educationalist.

Born in Shanghai, on returning to England she was educated at Arnold High School for Girls in Blackpool and the University of Manchester, where, as a mature student, she took a first in Politics and Modern History.^[1]

From September 1997 to 2005, she was Vice-Chancellor of Manchester Metropolitan University.^[2]

She was named a Dame Commander of the British Empire in the 2004 New Year Honours list.^[3]

She is High Sheriff for the County of Greater Manchester for 2006-2007.
