Alexander Roslin (July 15, 1718 - July 5 1793) was a Swedish portrait painter born in Malmö. Married 1759 to Marie-Suzanne Giroust. Roslin was mostly working in Paris from 1750 and onward.

Roslin must have lived in Russia in the mid 18th century as number of Russian Imperial Statemen's portraits have been attributed to him, inlcuding those of Ivan Betskoi and Ivan Shuvalov.
