Alexander Lloyd (also Alexander Loyd) (August 19, 1805 - April 7, 1871) who was buried in Graceland Cemetery served as a mayor of Chicago, Illinois (1840-1841) for the Democratic Party.
Irish-born Lloyd arrived in Chicago in 1833 and opened a shop. Within four years, he was considered a principal contractor and builder in Chicago. He served one term as mayor.
