Alexander Herr (born October 4, 1978) is a German ski jumper who have competed since 1993 . He won a two medals at the 2001 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti with a gold in the team large hill and a bronze in the team normal hill events.

Herr finished 21st in the individual normal hill at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. He also finished 3rd in the team event at the 2006 Ski-flying World Championships.

Herr's best individual finish was 2nd in the large hill in Finland in 2004. In 1997/98, Herr won the Ski jumping Continental Cup.

Herr quit the German team after not being chosen for the large hill event at the 2006 Winter Olympics. In 2006/07, Herr planned to compete for the Swedish ski jumping team, but he didn't receive the naturalization he had planned for in Scandinavia. [1] So he wrote a letter to the trainer of the Polish ski jumping team expressing his desire to compete for them. This was mainly to Herr's mother was from Poland so he perhaps he can earn Polish citizenship. [2]
