[edit] Works and Reception

Alexander Gnilitskiy is one of the pioneers of Southern Wave in painting. He is the most predictable artist in the Ukrainian artistic prrocess, where uncertainty as a way of life provokes the fear of distinctness. Consequently the strategy of his work is escape and permanent mimicry, multiplied to absurdity of a dad-kind. Recently the artist again turned to the quasi-irrational painting, re-coding the mythos and semantics of the heroes of cult animation films, fairy-tales and legends into a wave of personal, individualized myth.
