Alexander Gibb

Sir Alexander Gibb GBE (February 12, 1872 - January 21, 1958) was a Scottish civil engineer.
Gibb, born Broughty Ferry in Scotland, was educated at Rugby and University College London, and trained under British engineer Henri Marc Brunel. He became managing director of his father's business, Easton, Gibb & Son and later founded Sir Alexander Gibb & Partners.
He also wrote The Story of Telford: The Rise of Civil Engineering, a biography of engineer Thomas Telford, to whom his great-grandfather John Gibb had been a deputy. In 1936 he became President of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
