Alex Fabián Varas Rubio (born March 26, 1976) is a Chilean goalkeeper, who currently plays for Chilean club Colo-Colo. He began his career with Universidad Católica where he played four seasons. He spent one season with Coquimbo Unido. Varas spent separate one-year spells with Audax before and after spending four seasons with Santiago Wanderers. Currently with Colo-Colo, Varas is the number two goalkeeper behind Argentinean goalkeeper Sebastián Cejas.

For the Chilean national team, Varas has appear seven times. His international debut came on March 29, 1995, against Mexico.
