Alex Ross-Iver is the author of so-called Anti-Serious Music Genre.
He cites a list of influential artists that includes Beck, Barry Adamson, Jimi Tenor, Isaac Hayes, Apollo 440, Aphex Twin, Junior Senior, Orbital, William Orbit, Primus, Morphine, David Bowie, Seal, Sting, Smash Mouth, Cake, and many more. After years of work, Alex decided to pursue life as a songwriter, offering a style he refers to as "freaky, jokey/moody, unusual and typical soundtrack-sounding, semi-easy listening, electro funky soul, eclectic, indie, punk, electronica," a style he describes as being perfect for an ingenious film, cartoon, or television project.

Alex Ross-Iver was a semifinalist in the "R&B/Hip-Hop" category in the 2003 International Songwriting Competition and a finalist in the "Miscellaneous" category in the 2004 UK Songwriting Contest, each being the first time anyone from his country had achieved such a feat. Alex also earned Honorable Mentions for four songs in the Thirteenth Annual Billboard World Song Contest.
