Alex Lovell (born 28 March 1973 in Gravesend, Kent) is an English television presenter.
Lovell grew up in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, and at 18 attended drama school in London.
Her break came when she presented Playhouse Disney with Dave Benson-Phillips on the Disney Channel. To help build her career Lovell undertook a series of voice-over assignments and got her terrestial break playing the voice of the Whybird in the Playdays live tour around Britain. Lovell helped launch digital satellite auction channel bid-up.tv, before being poached by rival channel Auction World.tv. Lovell also appeared in one episode of sitcom My Dad's the Prime Minister as 'Saskia' a radio presenter
Before Auction World's collapse, Lovell had already started presenting the lunchtime quiz show BrainTeaser on Five, and her time slots increased in light of her greater availability. BrainTeaser is produced in Bristol, and when Channel 4 started production of its daily show Deal Or No Deal in the same studios, Lovell was asked to revive her role as a voice-over artist for the show, which she continues to this day.
Lovell joined the BBC Points West local news presentation team in July 2005, and is presently lead female presenter[1].
As of 8 March 2007 BrainTeaser has been taken off-air after allegations of premium rate phone call irregularities, amongst which an allegation that a member of the production staff posed as a winning contestant live on-air[2].
