Alex K

Alex K is a dance music DJ & Producer. He is of Greek and Polish descent, but was born and raised in Sydney, Australia. Born 29th November 1979 as Alex Karbouris, he was signed at 16 years of age to Central Station Records in Australia. That year he joined Australia's biggest dance station, Wild FM, as production manager. Alex created megamixes that featured on the all famous "Wild CD's" that sold hundreds of thousands copies. At 17 he had his first string of commercial releases and remixes. The most notable singles were "Pussywhipped" and "You Got It". He was signed to Nukleuz in 1999 and reached number 6 in the UK dance charts. His collaboration in 1998 with Amen Uk titled "Angel in my heart" gave Alex worldwide attention. His remixes and tracks were featured on hundreds of compilations across the globe. Alex K has also remixed numerous mainstream and underground artists, including Backstreet Boys, Snoop Dogg and Coolio.
Mid 2006 came Alex K's compilation Ultimate NRG. It went to sell over a staggering 100,000 copies alone in the UK, reached the number 2 in the charts, and was the 36th biggest selling cd in the UK for 2006. Proof that Alex K's sound is not only embraced by fans, but is loved by the people.
In 1996 Alex signed with Central Station Records, and put his releases out on Dinky Records, also home to Nick Skitz, Ultrasonic & Amen UK.
Alex has had signings across the globe, including labels such as Nukleuz, Ministry of Sound & AATW.
He has also remixed for artists like Sisqó, Delta Goodrem & Kylie Minogue.

Alex K's music career took off around the same time as the Klubbheads & DJ Jean, all following the 'bouncy/scouse house' dance genre. This is the sound Alex K is known for.
His own compilation 'Ultimate NRG' sold in excess of 100,000 units and went Gold in the UK in 2006.
Alex is currently living in the UK with residencies at several clubs including the Pleasure Rooms in Liverpool. He tours europe frequently.
