Alex Holzwarth

Alex Holzwarth (born 4th October, 1968 in Landshut, Germany) is the drummer of the Italian symphonic metal band Rhapsody of Fire. Alex started with Rhapsody Of Fire in 2000, when Daniele Carbonera left the band.

Alex started playing drums at the age of ten. The first instrument that he bought was a Troyan Drum with Paiste hi-hats. His first drummer teacher was Seppl Niemeyer.

Before playing with Rhapsody he played with Angra, Paradox, Looking Glass Self. He also played with bands like Sieges Even, Val'Paraiso, Blind Guardian (for which his brother Oliver plays session bass as well), Dol Ammad and Avantasia.
