Alexander Fernandez (born August 13, 1969 in Miami Beach, Florida) is a former right-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball who pitched for the Chicago White Sox (1990-96) and Florida Marlins (1997, 1999-2000).
In 1990, Fernandez won the Golden Spikes Award while pitching at Miami-Dade Community College as the best amateur baseball player in the United States. He later attended the University of Miami before entering Major League Baseball.
In little league, Alex played for the Hialeah Athletic Association (HAA) where he fine tuned his skills as a pitcher. Alex played for his father who was coach.
