Alessandro Specchi (1668 - November 16, 1729) was an Italian architect and etcher. Born in Rome, he trained under Carlo Fontana, specializing also as etcher with a series of vedute of Rome.

As an architect, he was influenced by Francesco Borromini. His first wajor work was the restoration of the Porto di Ripetta on the Tevere (destroyed in the 20th century and replaced by Rome's Ponte Cavour).

In 1711 he became a member of the St. Luke Academy. In 1723 he designed the famous Spanish Steps of Piazza di Spagna, leading to Trinità dei Monti.
