Alessandro (Billy) Costacurta (born April 24, 1966) is an Italian football (soccer) defender. He currently plays for AC Milan, where he has been since 1987.

Costacurta was born in Orago, Varese.

A mainstay in the Italian national team throughout the 1990s, Costacurta played for his country in 1994 and 1998 World Cups, as well as Euro 96. He retired from international duty with 59 caps in 1998. In 1994, Costacurta's bad luck had him miss both the World Cup final (lost by Italy) and the Champions League final (won by Milan) through suspensions.

With Milan, Costacurta won the Serie A title seven times, and the European Cup/Champions League four times (1989, 1990, 1994, 2003). Costacurta was set to retire from Milan at the end of the 2004/2005 season, but had since agreed to a new one-year contract with them, and is now still playing top-level football at the relatively advanced age of 40.[1]

On November 21, 2006 he became the oldest footballer ever to play in the Champions League, when he was on the Milan side that lost (1-0) at AEK Athens: 40 years and 211 days. The previous record holder was Belgian goalkeeper Danny Verlinden with 40 years and 116 days.

Costacurta is married to former Miss Italy 1991, Martina Colombari, and has one son, Achille. He is a fan of the New York Yankees.
