Alec Su

Alec Su ( Traditional Chinese: 蘇有朋,Simplified Chinese: 苏有朋, Pinyin: Sū Yǒupéng) (born on September 11, 1973 in Taipei, Taiwan) is a Taiwanese pop star and well-known actor in Taiwanese dramas. He became famous as a member of the Taiwanese Idol Band The Little Tigers formed in 1988 and later for his first Chinese TV series Princess Pearl (series 1 and 2).

Alec Su's stardom career started in 1988, at the age of 15, when he joined The Little Tigers trio boy band. The band was the first idol singing group that debuted in the Taiwanese music industry. Its elevated popularity was unprecedented by any other singing group at the time. The Little Tigers attracted fans from Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, and almost among all Chinese communities around the world.[citation needed] The success of the band began the new generation of Taiwanese pop culture in the early 1990s.

Apart from being a singer, he was often epitomized by the general public as a superior student. He attended Taiwan's number one high school, Taipei Municipal Chien-Kuo High School and was accepted at the prestigious National Taiwan University. Alec's outstanding academic achievements are recorded in his book entitled Youth Never Dies.[citation needed]

In 1995, after the break up of The Little Tigers, Alec Su embarked on a filming career. His role as the fifth prince in the Chinese TV series blockbuster Princess Returning I, II won him fame as an idolized television actor in 1997. He continued in 2000 with another hit TV series Romance in the Rain. His later TV series include Heavenly Sword and Dragon Saber and another production TV series Love of the Aegean Sea collaborating with Korean Actress Chaerim. His upcoming TV saga Magic Touch of Fate is projected to be the highest-budgeted Chinese TV series, co-acting with Taiwanese actress Ruby Lin and Korean singer Kang Ta.[citation needed]

Along with his TV success, he has released thirty top-selling albums.[citation needed] Starting from The Little Tigers, the band's every album hit Taiwan's number 1 spot in the Music Charts.[citation needed] As a solo artist he has released ten albums, beginning with his first Go to his latest release Before and After.

Alec's newest highly anticipated 1930s drama Jiang Ji Jiu Ji co-staring with Li Qian, Cecilia Ye Tong, and Paul Chun is expected to be aired in Spring of 2007.
