Aldworth Science College

Aldworth Science College is a secondary school, formerly Richard Aldworth Community School and The Blue Coat School. It is located on Western Way in Basingstoke, Hampshire.

Richard Aldworth was an East Indian merchant, born in Reading, Berkshire. When he died in 1848, he left £7000 to a hospital to build schools in Reading and Basingstoke, where his mother was born.

The school built in Basingstoke in 1860 was called the Blue Coat School. It started with just ten students and one teacher.
